HAPPY New Year all!!!

I wrote down my resolutions this year (that's private). And I made a few for the site.

Last year, I read a few books, cooked a lot (even bought a cookbook), watched tons of Netflix, went to more than a few museums (and failed to write about some...which still haunts me!), recommended a bunch of Interesting Things that I thought you all would enjoy and learn from, and even did a little photoshoot for the Block!

In December, I changed the layout of the Block, and I must admit it has been so much easier. Change can be good sometimes!

What I didn't do (long, sad sigh) is post a new short story, or the comic strip I've been working on. That part of the site suffered and I'm not proud. So, my resolution this year is to pay more attention to the creative side of the Block, which is the real reason I started it.

One thing I'm happy with is the way I covered Politics. To be honest, I'm obsessed with politics but it can be so draining. Especially now. I'm the nicest person you'll ever meet and I think I feel too much. It doesn't take too much for me to become sad. But I'm also an optimist, which means I'm easy-going and always looking on the bright side of things. Unfortunately, there's no bright side to what is going on in this country. But I didn't dwell on the ugly here on the site. I covered inspirational women and will continue to do so this year.

Starting and maintaining this blog has been rewarding. With encouragement from Guru, I stepped out of my comfort zone and out of writer's block. 2017 has been a year of growth for me and the site. I've realized that nothing gets done until you do it. And you have to make your own path. I have so many ideas for the Block this year and I hope you'll take this ride with me.

I wish you, dear reader, all the best for the New Year. Continue to laugh, love, and grow. May this year be the light at the end of the longest tunnel (in history). May your hard work pay off. May our dreams come through.
