It's Friday the 13th. Argh... so many superstitions surrounding this infamous day, which already occured on January 13 (where did the time go?). But why are we so afraid of Friday the 13th?

According to anthropologist, Phillips Stevens, Jr., our fear of Friday the 13th and the number "13" may have begun during the Middle Ages because of Jesus' last supper and crucifixion. This article explains it. But it makes sense because during that time (from the 5th century to the 15th century), Christianity was the dominant religion. In Europe, the Catholic Church was the only church, and great cathedrals and Catholic universities were built. Most importantly, the governement was lead by bishops and archbishops.
